Apple launches the brand new, 3rd Generation Apple iPod Shuffle!

And just when we thought that the 2nd Generation iPod Shuffle was tiny, Apple just one-upped it with the newest, 3rd Generation Apple iPod Shuffle.

You're not alone in wondering where the heck the controls are...the controls are actually built-into the included earphones. That's a nifty idea, but really leaves you with no other earphone or headphone option until there are third-party compatible ones available.

Another new and nifty thing with this new iPod Shuffle is that it talks to you!

There's no conversating, but this iPod Shuffle has a "VoiceOver Kit" that is a computerized announcement of the name of the track/song and artist that you're listening to. I guess that's a pretty neat substitute for a missing display, but I'm really curious to see if it really works for such a large variety of music. Sure, it might work for mainstream U.S. music and artists, but what about those overseas? Or even indie/independent types.

All in all, we were quite surprised that Apple would even make a smaller iPod than the 2nd Generation iPod Shuffle in the first place, and it would be interesting to see what folks think of this even smaller and lighter iPod Shuffle.
